Visiting this website
The website serves cottage information, photographs and locally hosted fonts. It has no enquiry, booking or newsletter form. Email and booking links take you to a separate email application or website; this website does not receive what you send there. The hosting service processes request information, such as IP address, request time and requested page, to deliver the site and diagnose errors.
We use request information to deliver the pages you ask for and to investigate faults or misuse. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a reliable, secure cottage website. Optional analytics, if enabled, is treated separately and requires your consent.
Service providers
Fasthosts hosts this website and Cloudflare provides traffic delivery and security. These providers process technical request information for those purposes. The site does not use a live Instagram feed or a newsletter service.
Optional analytics and your choices
Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load only after you accept optional analytics. Rejecting leaves Google scripts unloaded. Advertising and advertising personalisation are off.
Consented measurement records page visits, scrolling, outbound link clicks and clicks to check availability. Outbound-link measurement can include the public destination URL, such as a video, tide report or contact link. A booking-link click is not a completed booking. Our site-originated events send canonical page addresses without queries or fragments, the corresponding page title and an empty referrer. We do not send visitor-entered names, email addresses, enquiry text or booking details. Google also processes browser and device information and uses analytics identifiers.
Your choice is stored in this browser for 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days without extending that expiry on every visit. Use Privacy choices in the footer to change or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops analytics, removes this site's Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page to unload Google code. It does not delete information previously received by Google.

- roseworth_privacy_v1: local storage used to remember your analytics choice for 180 days. This stays in your browser rather than being sent with each request.
- _ga and _ga_*: optional Google Analytics cookies used to distinguish browsers and maintain session information. They are set only after you accept analytics and configured with a 180-day expiry.
You can use the cottage pages and availability links without accepting analytics. Consent is the basis for optional analytics processing. Deleting browser storage also removes the saved privacy choice, so we will ask again on your next visit.
How long information is kept
The 180-day browser choice and cookie lifetimes are separate from information held in Google Analytics. Its configured event-data retention is two months and user-data retention is fourteen months, with user retention restarting on new activity. Standard aggregated reports are not governed by those same limits.
Our web server is configured not to keep routine access logs. Error and diagnostic output may include request information when something goes wrong. Our application containers rotate this output by size, retaining at most two 5 MB files per service; older entries are replaced as new ones arrive. Fasthosts and Cloudflare may also keep operational records under their own published terms.
International processing
Cloudflare operates internationally and may process request information outside the UK, including in the United States. Hosting the website in the UK does not by itself keep all information within the UK. If optional analytics is enabled, Google may also process analytics information internationally.
